The Lady Rustlers pulled out a 72-42 win over the Lady Bison Thursday night in CMR’s fieldhouse. From the start the Rustlers seemed to have an edge, on both sides of the court, over the Lady Bison. The Bison held a one point advantage until the final seconds of the first quarter when CMR overtook the lead for good.
The Rustlers were able to stretch their lead throughout the game with a tough man-to-man defense, strong shooting and only 11 turnovers. They were able to shut down the Kumm sisters, the Bison’s leading scorers. A huge change from last week when the Bison turned a spectacular overtime loss to Butte that included the Kumm sisters to combine for nine of the teams ten trifectas. They were able to hold Brittany to only 7 points, after her season high 21 point performance last week, and Brandy scoreless. While CMR had four players scoring in double figures, the Bison were lead by senior Becky Schultz with 15 and senior Jolene Lartch with 12.
The Bison 3-4 overall and 0-2 in Eastern AA will host Helena Capital at 4:30 in Swarthout Fieldhouse.
