The AA Band Festival arrives this coming week—March 1 and 2 at GFHS. Over 200 band students will rehearse with superb guest directors over the course of the two days and combine into two mass bands and a percussion ensemble. We will have guest bands from Missoula Hellgate and Helena Capital high schools working with students from GFHS and CMR.
Our mass band guest conductors are Dr. Rob Taylor from the University of Vancouver, BC, and Dr. Edward Powell from Pacific Lutheran University, and Stephen Versaevel from MSU Bozeman will be leading the percussion ensemble.
Concerts on Monday and Tuesday are 7pm in the GFHS Auditorium—Monday night the four high school bands will play individually for each other and the general public, and Tuesday the mass bands will perform along with the percussion ensemble. Admission is free of charge!
